Brian Bingham is the founder and Sales Director for Highlander International,  He is responsible for dealing with the approved paper mills and re-processors supplied by Highlander. Brian has always run and operated his own businesses, all related to the waste industry, from trade waste recycling collections, to national retail contracts and currently recovered paper brokering. Brian was a professional skier and performed for the Great Britain ski team, which was his  route into the recycling business as he turned to collecting waste paper as a means of funding the costs attached to skiing on a professional basis.  Brian is 46 years old, married to Margaret and has two teenage children; his son Lewis started training with the company just several months ago.

Stephen Duffy is the Purchasing Director of Highlander International Recycling and has extensive experience in the technical aspects of paper recycling. Stephen was ten years with Smurfit Recycling, where he started off as General Operative and became Regional Manager for Scotland within 6 years. Stephen (35)  left Smurfit in 2005 to take the lead role in sourcing recovered paper for Highlander’s mill partners and has been instrumental in the rapid growth of the company. Married to Davina, they welcomed their first child in January 2011.

Leah McJimpsey is the Operations Manager for Highlander. She joined the company in March 2008 and is responsible for the management of all collections and deliveries of recovered materials purchased by Highlander.  She recently graduated with a BA degree in Business Management from Glasgow Caledonian University. 28 year old Leah has been active recently in the commercial functions of the company and many of the customers know her well from previous site visits.

Isobel McEwan (Finance Manager)

Isobel McEwan has been with Highlander since December 2008 in the position of Finance Manager, having spent the majority of her career in the insurance industry, being involved in all aspects of the trade from car, household, business et al. Isobel, who took a career break to start a family in 1995, graduated from John Wheatley College in Glasgow with accounts qualifications in SAGE and other relevant aspects and was in charge of finance and accounts for almost three years up to November 2008 when she started with Highlander, where she is in charge of the day to day accounts operations.

Lewis is a Trainee Broker and has been with Highlander since June 2010. You may see a striking resemblance with Brian Bingham, as Lewis is Brian’s son. Lewis is currently learning all about the recovered paper business.
